His academic pursuits initially took him to Hunter College in New York City to study Sociology. However, at New Mexico State University, an introductory course in Epidemiology ignited his passion for public health, leading to a Bachelor's degree in Human and Community Services in 2007.
He continued cultivating his academic prowess at NMSU, earning a Master's in Public Health in 2009. His scholarly endeavors included a significant internship at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center, contributing to his graduate thesis. 2015, he achieved a pivotal academic milestone by earning a Ph.D. in Health and Behavioral Science from the University of Colorado-Denver.
